The History of EIT
The EIT Benefit Funds (EIT) has been serving the electrical industry since 1930. Originally known as the Electrical Insurance Trustees, the organization was established to provide group life and disability insurance for participants of IBEW Local Union 134.
Over time, through the dedicated service and commitment of various Board of Trustees participants (made up of both labor and management), new plans for health, welfare, pension, and other related benefits were created.
What We Do
Today, EIT administers plans that offer a full range of health & welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, hearing, mental health, accident and sickness, life insurance, disability, and unemployment benefits. Our organization also administers various defined benefit pension plans and a defined contribution pension plan. Participants are eligible for these coverages and benefits based on the terms of the collective bargaining agreements negotiated by Local Union 134 with the employers.

Our Mission
EIT Benefits Funds, its Trustees, and employees remain committed to serving the electrical industry for many years to come. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for participants, their families, and beneficiaries by delivering health care coverage, retirement benefits, and related services as professionally, efficiently, and cost-effectively as possible.
